This vintage Japanese baby girl doll is a beautiful and unique addition to any collection. With a traditional kimono and glass eyes, it is clear that this doll was carefully crafted with attention to detail. Its provenance may not be available, but its handmade quality and Japanese culture are evident in its design. This doll is a wonderful representation of Asian culture and would make a great gift or display piece for any lover of Japanese dolls. This baby doll has a hard rubber body and face that can be easily be mistaken for composition and Gofun. The arms and legs have hairline cracks which seems to be inevitable with composite composition. The legs and arms are attached via a hook and elastic system that can be reworked as it has loosened over time. The hair was probably black and has faded, as many, to a pleasing reddish color, there is some hair missing at crown, see photo. Her kimono is a lovely mix of florals and is still bright, her brocade vest is also remarkably well kept. Please see photos for full description. Any questions are welcome! Please ask!
