Vintage 12” African American Porcelain Baby Doll with inner dress and nightshirt with bonnet. Full length with outfit is approx. 18”.
The doll is in good overall condition, no cracks. Her dress shows some light spots that are not highly visible, but could likely be addressed with light careful bleaching since fabric appears to be cotton. Ribbons look a bit worn upon close inspection. She has a beautiful porcelain face and porcelain forearms, with what appear to be glass eyes and painted eyelashes. The rest of her body is stuffed as in antique dolls of this kind. The word “vintage” is engraved on her neck along with artist’s name “M. Saxton”. (she appears to be made in the style of “My Dream Baby” a doll produced in 1920’s by Armand Marseille).
