I am selling a few dolls for an original owner who is 90! Check back soon for an R & B Nancy Lee, a small Dream baby, and possibly a 22" Shirley Temple!
This listing is for an absolutely outstanding PAIR of Madame Alexander dolls.They are in truly amazing condition considering they are almost 90 years old. These dolls are circa 1930s possibly 1936 acc. to doll reference site. My 90 year old friend has had these in a BOX for many years!
They are a pair of composition dolls with cloth bodies. He is known as Butch and she may be a Bitsy doll, but I have seen a similar doll in this outfit by a different name; both by Mdme A in the early days of their doll production. Sleep eyes are in great condition, minimal if much of any crazing at all that I can even see. Both have their original auburn red colored mohair 'wigs' glued onto the molded curly hair underneath. Bitsy still has a nice roll to the bangs in front and soft curl in back. Butch's hair is a bit boyishly wild but still there! His shoes show wear to the oilcloth but still intact while her shoes look spanking new, an amazing pale yellow oil cloth showing no wear! Proper storage in this LOW humidity environment have sure kept them beautiful.

Butch has his original blue high waisted pants with sweater top and beanie hat with pom-pom, his original shoes and socks. His compo is in excellent condition overall! She is a wonder to behold in her white cotton dress with tag and beautiful tagged yellow lined coat and matching hat along with her original yellow mittens trimmed in the softest brown rabbit fur! The mittens did not get lost as they are attached with a ribbon that runs inside coat out out the sleeves! All the clothes have been cleaned, except of course the mittens. The dolls were kept in a box by the owner for many many years, unexposed to weather or issues. Gently played with as well a long time ago quite obviously.
This pair will be sold together.
