They are of exceptional quality with meticulously designed and intricately detailed clothes. All of our dolls have been restrung with elastic cord to prevent loose body parts . All the old, deteriorating rubber bands, that were originally used to attach all appendages, have been removed. The clothes are immaculate and fresh. This line of dolls were some of the very first Madame Alexander dolls created. Madame Alexander loved the Novel "Little Women" written by Louisa May Alcott in 1868, about four young girls and their mother growing up in the time of the Civil War. It speaks across generations of discovery, heartache and love.  Each of the sisters copes with the tumultuousness of the war and the absence of their father in a different way: Meg strives to be a lady,  and Jo writes fiction. Their mother Marmee ,(mommie) is the family’s moral compass. Beth is the third sister, quiet, shy and angelic.  She is a people pleaser, very concerned with keeping the family together. Last, but definitely not least, is Laurie the rich young man who lives opposite the Marches.  Laurie is the "boy next door" the romantic interest of several of the little women.

BETH: brown hair, blue eyes, pink dress, contrasting white lace trimmed pinafore with tiny white buttons down the front of the bodice, white pantaloons, white socks tucked into black shoes that snap on the side and a pink satin bow in her hair. THEODORE LAWRENCE "LAURIE": has brown hair and sparkling brown eyes.  He is smartly dressed in navy blue and white thin pinstripe pants and a white shirt with a sporty navy-blue bow tie.  He is wearing a wool double- breasted navy-blue jacket boasting six gold ball buttons and matching cap.  His black socks are tucked into black suede shoes.
